Business Lead Generation Design

A Case Study


What was true for this politician's website, is true for almost all others. They ask for three things:

  1. Contributions - this is how they remain in office - they can't do it without our support
  2. Volunteers - they need us to get involved - in their campaign and mission
  3. Contact Information - just a straight up "give me your name, email, phone and address"
What we realized is that none of the political sites we analyzed asked for ideas from visitors. We knew we could leverage this for increased leads, and, probably, increased contributions. So, we created pages for each major issue, and presented our politician's approach to each issue. Then, we asked for help (contributions) if you agree with the approach. If not, we ask for your ideas to improve the approach.

Now if you leave the website without contributing cash or an idea, and you believe in our politician's mission - maybe the nagging feeling that you should do something will bring you back with at least a recommendation (business lead generation).

He can use your ideas to improve his approach. And, it provides an opportunity for him to reach out to you more relevantly - about an issue you seem to care about. If you contributed, he knows which issue inspired your donation. He also knows which issues carry little weight with his constituents. Maybe he needs to replace one or more of the issues that make up his platform with issues that are more important to the people he represents.

So there you have it - smarter site, increased sales leads (potential contributors), more contributions, and happy client!
